Dan grew up in between the Vietnamese and French cultures then moved to the United States to study at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts for a BFA in Film & TV Production with a minor in Studio Arts. Since then, she has worked as a Director of Photography around the world and have shot over 30 short films and 6 feature films from top box office studio films to award-winning independent films. Her camera work has been screened at festivals such as Berlin International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, Busan International Film Festival, among others. She is recorded to be the first Vietnamese female director of photography to capture a local feature film released in theaters in 2020. In 2023, she received “Best Cinematography” at the Golden Lotus Award. This is the first time this award was given to a woman in Vietnam. Dan has also participated as a Jury in the Central Asia Competition at the Bishkek International Film Festival 2024 and in the Short Films Competition at Hanoi International Film Festival 2024.
Dan is currently based in Saigon, Vietnam, and is available to work worldwide.
